Conference in Employment Law: Navigating Regulatory and Operational Changes in 2026

As Malta’s business landscape braces for another wave of regulatory and operational change, Ganado Advocates’ upcoming conference, People & Organisations: 2026 and Beyond should provide employers with a timely and practical roadmap.

Taking place on April 16, the event will bring together legal and industry experts to unpack the growing list of obligations facing organisations including the EU Pay Transparency Directive, new family-friendly measures and the introduction of auto-enrolment pension schemes; developments that are expected to have a direct impact on workforce management and cost structures.

Beyond compliance, the conference will reflect a broader shift in how businesses must approach employment, as legal frameworks increasingly intersect with data protection, tax and technology.

“Employers are no longer dealing with standalone legal issues. The real challenge lies in understanding how different regulatory strands come together and affect day-to-day operations,” notes Lara Pace, Senior Associate at Ganado Advocates.

Other speakers will include Matthew Brincat and Nina Fauser, and Julienne Bencini also from Ganado Adovcates’ Employment and Pensions.

A key highlight of the event will be a panel discussion moderated by Dr Pace, featuring Paul Micallef Grimaud insights from the technology and intellectual property sphere, Philip Mifsud who will address the concept of share-options and other corporate matters, alongside Robert Taylor-East on tax and Philip Formosa, who look into important emerging trends from data protection point of view.

The panel will explore how these disciplines are converging, particularly as businesses adopt digital tools and face increased scrutiny over data use and governance.

The agenda will also address more immediate workplace realities, including restructuring processes, redundancy management and evolving expectations around employee wellbeing.

“With occupational health extending beyond physical safety to include mental health considerations, employers are being urged to take a more proactive stance”, added Lara Pace.
