Ganado Advocates to Sponsor the 2026 IFSP Annual Conference at Hilton Malta
Ganado Advocates sponsored the 2026 Annual Conference of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP), held on 26 May at the Hilton Malta.
The event saw the participation of around 200 senior practitioners from over 120 advisory and CSP firms operating in both international and domestic markets. The conference served as a key platform for industry discussions on the evolving regulatory, legal, and governance landscape shaping financial services in and from Malta.
The agenda covered a broad range of timely topics, including recent developments in company law and practice, the evolution of financial services regulation, and broader strategic themes such as governance, ESG, AI, cyber risk, and geopolitical uncertainty.
Discussions also explored Malta’s position as a family office hub, shifts in the international tax landscape, and advancements in banking and cybersecurity, alongside wider considerations regarding regulatory collaboration, risk assessment, and cross-authority information sharing.
Stephen Attard , Partner in Corporate Finance and Tax, participated as a speaker and moderator on the panel titled “Recent Developments in Company Law & Practice.” The panel analyzed proposed amendments to the Companies Act prepared by the IFSP’s Corporate Law & CSP Committee, led by Stephen Attard. It also addressed recently enacted simplified liquidation procedures, practical issues related to the MBR’s online portal, and the launch of the Malta Business Wallet.
Anthony Cremona Partner in Private Client & AML-CFT Regulatory, was a panelist in the discussion titled “Herding Cats, a Regulatory Perspective,” which focused on consolidating risk assessments, reporting, and rethinking frameworks for cross-authority collaboration and secure information sharing.
