All registered advocates in Malta are members of the Chamber of Advocates which is the legitimate body representing all justified advocates operating in Malta. The Chamber acts on behalf of its member.
There are approximately 800 registered advocates where of all of them are multilinguals. The most spoken languages are Maltese and English however many of them speak Italian Arabic, Spanish and French.
Lawyers can take advantage of the Malta Law Academy in order to educate themselves in various legal themes as it organizes seminars and other events related to legal themes. The Academy publishes books and journals and aims to train and instruct lawyers so they can be updated with the latest developments in their sector.
The Commission for the Administration of Justice is another body that regulates the profession of advocacy. The main purpose of this body is to supervise the work of all legal authorities and legal practitioners such as courts, members of the Judiciary and advocates.
