The Financial Requirements
The financial requirements under the Malta Permanent Residence Programme remain straightforward and transparent.
Applicants may either:
• Purchase residential property in Malta with a minimum value of €375,000, or
• Lease residential property with a minimum annual rent of €14,000.
In addition, the current programme includes:
• A government contribution of €37,000.
• A government administrative fee of €60,000 (payable in stages).
• A mandatory €2,000 donation to a registered Maltese charity organisation.
Applicants must also satisfy the programme’s asset requirements, demonstrating either:
• Capital assets of at least €500,000, including at least €150,000 in financial assets; or
• Total capital assets of at least €650,000, of which at least €75,000 are financial assets.
