VAT and Financial Services conference

Mark Caruana Scicluna, Senior Associate at Ganado Advocates will be speaking at the conference From Funds to FinTech: The VAT Implications of Evolving Financial Services Models organised by Zampa Partners, taking place on the 25th of March at Villa Arrigo.

The conference will focus on the increasing complexity surrounding the VAT treatment of financial services. As evolving business models and the growing presence of digital platforms continue to challenges long-established VAT positions, the event will bring together VAT advisors, financial services industry stakeholders and international experts to examine how exemptions are being interpreted, the risks that are emerging, and how businesses can manage the regulatory and practical challenges ahead.

Mark will be speaking during the introductory session titled “Start with commercial reality; then apply VAT law. A practical introduction to fintech and fund structures.” The programme will also include panel discussions and presentations addressing VAT exemptions in financial services, practical VAT challenges in fintech and funds, and the latest developments in case law.
